Movie review - Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi

Story
Surinder Sawhney (Shahrukh Khan) is an average, timid and unattractive government employee. He likes Taani (Anushka Sharma) when he goes to her wedding. She is the daughter of his college professor. When the groom-to-be dies in an accident, the dying professor asks Surinder to tie knot to Taani. They return to Amritsir and Taani tells Surinder that she could love him though she married him. But Surinder loves her a lot, but refrains from expressing it. It all changes when dance loving Taani wants to join a dance club. A stylist buddy of Surender gives him a new look. And he attends the dance club and gets introduced to Taani as Raj. Over a period of time, Taani gets bored with her husband Surinder and likes the company on Raj. The rest of the story is all about whom she chooses when Raj proposes to her one day.

Analysis: First half of the film is good. Second half is nice, but there are some boring moments. The positive points are casting, screenplay and direction. The negative points are lack of logic (heroine not recognizing hero without mustache) and the aspect of hero testing heroine’s character. The negative points dominate the positive points in the film. Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi has both fun and sentiment in equal dosage. It makes an interesting viewing.

Rating : 3/5
